The AGM and Open Meeting will be on Saturday 21st April 2018, the AGM will start at 12 noon and the Open Meeting at 2.00 pm, ending by 4.00 pm.

This year we are meeting at Christchurch Mansion, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP4 2BE.

The speaker at the Open Meeting will be Keith Wade, former manager of the Suffolk County Council Archaeological Service. He will talk about:  What next? Forty years of rescue archaeology in Ipswich

Admission to the Open Meeting is FREE to both Rescue members and non-members.

Christchurch Mansion and Wolsey Art Gallery are within the south end of Christchurch Park on the north side of Ipswich town centre. The nearest access is either via the entrance to the park on Soane St or the entrance off Bolton Lane. Both the AGM and the Open Meeting will be in the Tudor Room on the ground floor.

More information about the museum can be found at:

There is a small café in the Mansion, and good access to town centre cafes, pubs and shops.

Ipswich rail station is on the south side of the town, just over a mile away on foot. It has a large taxi rank and some buses (and there are more from bus stops across the bridge on Princes St) to the town centre – go to Tower Ramparts bus station or to Northgate Street which are about 5 minutes walk from the Soane St entrance to the park where the mansion is in front of you.

There is no car parking at the Mansion but there are various car parks in the town and there is some on-street parking in residential areas around the park (but some is for residents only and Saturdays are often busy).

There is Blue Badge only car parking in the Christchurch Park Car Park behind the museum. This car park is accessed from the Bolton Lane entrance (on the left just south of the Woolpack Pub junction). The car park is on the left after entering the park gates and the far end of the car park is closest to the museum; there is a ramp access from here down to the front of the museum.
